प्रदेश सरकार, मन्त्रिपरिषद्को मिति २०७६/०७/१८ को निर्णयानुसार शिक्षा, श्रम तथा रोजगार, युवा तथा खेलकुद, विज्ञान तथा प्रविधि र सामाजिक विकास तर्फका जिल्ला तथा स्थानीय स्तरमा संचालन हुने कार्यक्रमहरुको सञ्चालन तथा कार्यान्वयनका लागि सामाजिक विकास मन्त्रालय, शिक्षा तथा सामाजिक विकास निर्देशनालय अन्तर्गत रहने गरी मिति २०७६ मंसिर १५ गते यस डिभिजन कार्यालयको स्थापना गरिएको हो । यस सामाजिक विकास डिभिजन कार्यालय, कपिलवस्तु जिल्लाको वाणगंगा नगरपालिका वडा नं ४ गजेहडा भन्ने स्थानमा वडा नं ४ को कार्यालय सँगै रहेको छ । यस डिभिजन कार्यालयको कार्यक्षेत्र कपिलवस्तु र अर्घाखाँची जिल्ला रहेको छ ।
